Saturday, August 27th and Sunday, August 28th, 2022 was the inaugural year for our show. During the show we saw an amazing Tallgeese build by Christopher Hill. Minus a few flaws it was a superb build. We gave it our critiques and on to the next build we judged. This piece ended up being best in our show. Time passed and we were at another local contest called Sproo-Doo (http://www.casmodels.org/). We were asked to judge the Gunpla Category at the show due to our knowledge of the subject. We once again found ourselves judging the Tallgeese by Christopher Hill. But something was different. Chris had taken our critiques of his build and had addressed every single issue. By our judging standards THIS was the perfect build. It ended up winning the Gunpla category. This got us thinking and after great discussion, when at other shows, we would love to honor a Gunpla Build. Whether it be the perfect build, an amazing kitbash idea, or generally a build that impresses us, we want to honor it.
From now on when an AGA member is at a show other than our own, they shall be given a coin to take with them. At their discretion and with the permission of the show they are at they may award a Gunpla build of their choice with this award. Pictures will be taken of said build and posted here on this page. We are calling it the Gundarium Award in honor of the metal the original RX-78 Gundam was made out of. While it was in intially known as Luna Titanium, after the One Year War it was renamed Gundarium in honor of the Gundam.
